WHO WE ARE

Arran Council for Voluntary Servce (ACVS) offers a wide range of information and practical help to voluntary and comunity groups operating on the islands of Arran and Cumbrae. Our  office is based in Lamlash, Arran and we have an outreach worker located on Cumbrae.

There are over 260 voluntary and community groups operating on Arran and many more that are mainland based that provide services to the island. The diversity and range of activities reflects the voluntary sector throughout Scotland. A large proportion of groups are arts and recreational orientated, with many contributing to the economy by organising plays, shows, gala weeks, art exhibitions and by providing public facilities.  There are 9 village halls, managed by their local communities. The area also has a long history of campaigning and helping others.
