Volunteer Centre Aims
- To help make volunteering a positive experience for all concerned
- To encourage and enable people to become volunteers
- To broaden the range of people who volunteer and help ensure equal opportunities for all
- To help potential volunteers to find voluntary work which suits them and where their individual qualities and skills will be valued
- To help groups and organisations find the right volunteer for them
In addition we......
- Promote and publicise the values of volunteering
- Provide information, advice and on-going support to volunteers
- Provide information, advice and training to those who work with volunteers
- Promote best practice in volunteer management
- Produce a regular email newsletter for all those involved.
We also act as a "job centre" for voluntary work. We link people who want to volunteer with groups and organisations by matching interests, skills and needs. To do this we gather up to date information about local volunteer opportunities and put potential volunteers in touch with the organisations who are seeking help. We produce a database of volunteering opportunities, please click here for more information regarding the database.
