Welcome to the Strengthening the Third Sector Steering Group web page.

The Strengthening the Third Sector Steering Group was set up on 6th June, 2008 after proposed changes in funding for third sector organisations were made public. A speech made by Dick Walsh emphasised the need for the Third Sector umbrella bodies to provide a strong and cohesive voice to represent voluntary organisations throughout Argyll & Bute. A working committee was set up, comprised of and nominated by representatives of the Third Sector and they will meet once a fortnight to put together a working proposal for Argyll & Bute Council. This proposal will incorporate Argyll & Bute Single Outcome Agreement , Fairer Argyll & Bute and Scottish Government Action Plan for the Third Sector.

We will updating this site with documents and minutes of steering group meetings once a fortnight. Please check the document folder regularly for any updates.
