Re-JIG (Recycle - Jura / Islay Group)

Re-JIG was set up in 1999 by a small team of likeminded people with the aim of:

  1. to promote waste recycling in the island communities of Islay and Jura
  2. to encourage and foster voluntary and paid employment in waste minimisation particularly amongst the long term unemployed and adults with learning disabilities

We now employ a full time project officer to help us achieve our aims assisted by a full time and a part time recycling operative

We collect materials from 25 Community recycling bins in villages throughout the islands and to sort the paper, textiles plastic drink bottles and cans at our depot in Whin Park, Bridgend.

For more details of what can be recycled and where please take a look at the GRAB website (The Group for Recycling Argyll & Bute) at www.grab.org.uk
