I
Individual Learning AccountILA Scotland is a Scottish Executive scheme which helps you pay for learning that you can do at a time, place, pace and in a way to suit you. Previously the scheme allowed anyone living in Scotland, aged over 18 and earning less than £18,000 per year to claim up to £200 per annum to put towards a range of learning opportunities. While those earning more than £18,000 could claim up to £100 per annum which could only be put towards attending a range of IT related courses. However the scheme has now been extended to enable those eligible for the £100 ILA scheme to apply for a wider range of courses up to and including SCQF Level 6. For further information on how to apply for an ILA and the courses currently available please visit the ILA Scotland website, or call the free helpline number: 08 08 100 1090. Please note that the money available through the scheme is not a loan and does not have to be paid back.
