The Better Health, Better Care Action Plan, sets the scene for the future. It is vital to ensure that we keep pace with the changes needed to ensure that we maintain the momentum for change and improvement and that we continue with our efforts to tackle the challenges presented by an increasingly ageing population, and therefore a higher expected incidence of cancer. It is vital also to ensure services are best placed to deliver modern cancer treatments and care as more and more people are living with cancer as we see a continuing and welcome decrease in death rates. http://www.scotland.gov.uk/Publications/2008/02/06140628/0

The Scottish Government is asking people for their views on the options available for Scotland's constitutional future. There is no fixed timescale for this consultation. The Government suggests that there are three principal choices to be considered in the National Conversation: • Continuing with the current constitutional settlement with no or minimal change • Extending devolved power in Scotland in areas identified during the National Conversation • Taking the steps to allow Scotland to become a fully independent country There is no fixed timescale for this consultation.
