Argyll & Bute Care & Repair

Argyll & Bute Care & Repair

Argyll & Bute Care & Repair (ABCR) is part of a nationwide network of organisations to help the elderly and/or disabled in the private sector remain in their homes in the community by helping with repair, maintenance, improvement or adaptation.  There are 37 such projects throughout Scotland and ABCR, established in late 2001, is one of three of the projects established as independent charities (others are usually affiliated to housing associations).

The work of ABCR is overseen by a Board of Directors, with representatives of Argyll & Bute Council and Communities Scotland in attendance.  The day to day work of the project is carried out by a project Co-ordinator and an Administrator.  Four Care and Repair Officers and a Technical Officer carry out the Core Service,  with six Housing Support Officers, carrying out work through the Supporting People programme.
